Cole had his surgery yesterday and it went well. It was very stressful for his mother as you can imagine, anyone who has children knows that it is scary anytime they take your child away on a cart to cut them open. It was his shoulder that had to be fixed, he tore the labram lifting wts last year in summer school and it has since been posteriorly dislocating anytime he raises his arm over his head. Poor guy. But he is now home and healing- he is in a brace that immobilizes him for approx 3 weeks which is not fun for him, he has some pain of course but it seems tolerable.
So I left Makenna home alone yesterday (12 years old going on 25) as we had to leave at 3:30 am to get to Indianapolis for surgery. This kid like most without any pressing business sleeps till 11 or 12 everyday unless her mom goes in and rolls her out of her bed any earlier in which case she acts like a beast.
So I figure she will be fine at home, looking after the dogs and getting her chores done when she does wake up, she will only have a few hours until I am home again. The few rules I left her with were NO cooking, she can cook well but blondie sometimes forgets to turn off the stove! And NO swimming !
I should now mention that Makenna's life long bestest friend ever lives just across the holler from us, these girls have been together since they were tiny, and what I love about their friendship is that there is no DRAMA! Seriously, they get together, hang out, swim, play games play in the river, whatever, there is no texting, no facebook, just fun and laughter its great!
So apparently there was a plan for the adults being gone all day!
These girls set their alarms for 5:30 AM and got up got showered, and met in my back yard at the patio table with their cereal bowls for breakfast. I wish I could have seen this! They then spent the whole day catching up on their shows on the DVR, getting the chores done and hanging out.
They crack me up!
I think they are so funny, and when I told them just how amused I was by them they informed me that they realized they needed more time to hang out in the day, they didn't feel like they were getting enough time together! Duuhh mom, if we get up earlier and start earlier we have more time. Wow really!?!? I told them that was the reason they have to get up early for school so they can have more time there too.
The one rule I forgot was no golf cart rides in the street, when we pulled in the driveway there they were cruising the golf cart around in their bathing suits, "finally your home now we can swim" they say, my response is "yes Makenna your brother is just fine"
